In this series of interlocking vignettes the themes of love, desperation, economic stability, and personal fulfillment are explored through the eyes of the myriad characters living and working in Pierce, Georgia. The world they inhabit is grim and familiar to anyone who has experienced small-town life in working-class America, but each scene brings forth an unexpected magic which reflects and illuminates their individual struggles. Though their circumstances may lead them to feel they are trapped in an endless cycle of poverty and isolation, the continual glimmer of hope that is the resiliency of their community leaves them yearning for an outcome that maybe this time will be different
